Repair Café & TerraCycle Collection

Don’t throw away your broken item – bring it to the Repair Café! SalemRecycles will be hosting a Repair Cafe on Saturday May 20th from 9am-12 noon at the Community Life Center at 401 Bridge Street. Appointments are required and walk ins will not be accepted. Schedule an appointment by contacting Janelle Rolke at jrolke@salem.com or 978-619-5672. Repair volunteers will be available to mend clothing, sew buttons, sharpen scissors and knives, tinker with or rewire electronics and lamps, computer diagnostics, glue wooden furniture and ceramics, repair bicycles or preform bike tune-ups, and more. Please keep in mind these services may change as we confirm volunteers. We hope to see you at this fun event where you can learn how to fix things and reduce your waste!
TERRACYCLE — We’re collecting SIX TerraCycle brigades of otherwise hard-to-recycle items. Please keep each TerraCycle stream separate.
** Swiffers: All used, dried Swiffer pads.
** Razors: All brands of reusable and disposable razors, blades & cartridges, as well as any flexible or rigid plastic packaging they come in.
** Dental Care: Toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, mouthwash bottles, & floss containers. All brands, plus toothbrush packaging.
** Deodorant: All brands of deodorant containers and caps.
** Writing Instruments + : All brands of empty writing instruments, glue sticks, watercolor dispensers, paint sets, and flexible packaging.
** Razors: All brands of reusable and disposable razors, blades & cartridges, as well as any flexible or rigid plastic packaging they come in.
** Dental Care: Toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, mouthwash bottles, & floss containers. All brands, plus toothbrush packaging.
